Pediatric Occupational Therapy at Sound Plus

At Sound Plus, we believe every child deserves the opportunity to reach their fullest potential. Our Pediatric Occupational Therapy (OT) program is designed to help children build essential life skills through fun, purposeful, and play-based activities.

Our experienced occupational therapists work closely with children and families to promote independence, confidence, and success in everyday life — at home, in school, and during play.

What Is Pediatric Occupational Therapy?

Occupational Therapy helps children develop the physical, sensory, and cognitive skills necessary for everyday activities.
For children, their “occupations” include playing, learning, and self-care.

Our therapy focuses on supporting children who experience challenges in these areas by creating engaging, goal-oriented, and enjoyable sessions that make learning feel like play.

Who Can Benefit from Occupational Therapy?

Pediatric OT can benefit children who experience:

  • Developmental delays
  • Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
  • Sensory processing difficulties
  • ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder)
  • Fine or gross motor delays
  • Learning and coordination difficulties (e.g., Dyspraxia, Dysgraphia)
  • Behavioral and emotional regulation challenges
  • Delayed self-care skills (feeding, dressing, toileting)

Skills We Help Develop

Our therapy sessions are designed to improve your child’s ability to participate independently and successfully in daily life.We focus on a wide range of developmental and functional areas, including:

  • Fine Motor Skills: Enhancing hand strength, dexterity, and control for writing, cutting, and self-care tasks.
  • Gross Motor Skills: Improving balance, posture, and body coordination for confident movement.
  • Sensory Integration: Helping children regulate responses to touch, sound, sight, and movement.
  • Activities of Daily Living (ADLs): Promoting independence in feeding, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
  • Cognitive and Executive Functioning: Strengthening planning, organization, attention, and memory.
  • Visual-Motor and Perceptual Skills: Building hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness for reading and writing.
  • Social and Play Skills: Encouraging communication, teamwork, and emotional connection through play.
  • Emotional Regulation: Teaching strategies for managing frustration, attention, and self-control.

Our Therapy Approach

We follow a child-centered, play-based approach that keeps children motivated and engaged while they learn new skills. Each session is personalized based on assessment results, therapy goals, and continuous progress tracking.

Therapy may include:

  • Sensory play and obstacle courses
  • Fine and gross motor strengthening activities
  • Daily living practice and self-care training
  • Visual-motor coordination games

Our therapists use evidence-based methods and collaborate with parents, teachers, and caregivers to ensure skills are practiced consistently across home, school, and community settings.
We also provide home programs and practical strategies to support ongoing development between sessions.

Parent and Family Involvement

We believe parents are key partners in every child’s therapy journey. Our team actively involves families in:

  • Setting and reviewing therapy goals
  • Observing sessions and learning home-based carryover activities
  • Participating in parent training and feedback meetings
